Happy Father's Day Josh B! Tell him I am really liking his *longer* hair (it feels funny to say that, considering it is still short, but ya know what I mean :-)
And I love Silas' art work! Beautiful. Love ya!

I have just started your book!! Love it-feel sure I could have finished it last night if I had not had 7 boys at our house for a sleepover. Thanks for sharing your journey!

Hey there,

my name is Shannon and although I don't post on your blog I have been following your adoption journey for some time now.

I'm not sure if you heard about the terrible turn of events for some Canadian waiting families this week? There are only two agencies you can go through in Canada to adopt from Ethiopia and one of them, out of the blue, filed for Bankruptcy. We don't even understand how this could even happen (although now we are finding out our agencies director may have spent our money personally) and are waiting to hear more detail...but in the mean time it looks like all of us who had been waiting (some waiting almost 2 years) for referrals are going to be left with no hope for a family.

We are trying to lobby our government to step in and facilitate the rest of the files that were waiting to be processed, but it looks like the only way this will happen is if we can create a lot of pressure on them. We are a group of about 400 and honestly I think they simply think we will be forgotten in a few weeks.

Sorry to be the kind of person who asks for help but we heartbroken are desperate to save our adoptions. Can you please post the link to our petition on your blog and encourage you American blogging community to do the same.

Thanks so much,

Shannon Warren

Hi Amy!
You don't know me, but I found your blog a couple of years ago and I've been reading about you and your family ever since! When Ashes to Africa came out, I of course read that too! :)

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all that you have shared about your story and your adoption of Silas. Adoption has been on my heart for a long time and your story has helped lead me and my husband to a place where we are ready to "take the plunge!" About 3 months ago, we started working on our paperwork to adopt a baby from Ethiopia.

We have a long way to go, but are excited about this journey that God has called us to. Thank you so much for sharing and for advocating for orphans and children. It has meant so much and God is using your words so powerfully (at least in my life!)

Thank you and God bless.

Hey, so I'm not really one to talk since my blogging and commenting has dwindled down to nearly nothing, but... Where are you?

I love the Father's Day photos! So precious!

Hey Amy,
Just curious about what kind of paint Silas used for his Father's Day stuff. Looks like it dried shiny & I really like it! ;)

Could you please let me know when you get chance?

Thanks!!
Mandy
